Format of Workshop: Information and Discussion/Practical
Suitable for: All

This workshop is designed for students interested in teaching in the Humanities and Social Science disciplines where encouraging engagement in seminars and tutorials is of central importance. Topics covered include:
* consideration of your teaching and learning role
* understanding how students learn
* encouraging active learning in small group teaching
* developing core teaching skills e.g. providing helpful feedback
* thinking about how teachers can develop their skills and practice
By the end of workshop, you should be able to:
* provide a rationale for your own approaches to learning and teaching
* plan seminars and other learning activities
* engage with learners in promoting their own learning

Note: Some sessions are reserved for those nominated by their School, while others are open to those wishing to attend as part of their general skills development.
