This workshop for students in the sciences and engineering explores the purpose of assessment, examines the value of assessment criteria and provides experience in marking and giving feedback. Its focus is on those aspects of assessing students’ work that are most likely to involve postgraduate teaching assistants, such as marking, writing comments and giving feedback.

The aims of this course are to:
* Examine the purpose of assessment and the value of assessment criteria for postgraduate teaching assistants
* Equip you with the skills to mark, write comments, and give feedback on students’ work

Note: Some sessions are reserved for those nominated by their School, while others are open to those wishing to attend as part of their general skills development.
