The Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Unit in the School of Medicine is responsible for the delivery of a programme in Bioinformatics (Bioinformatics/Genetic Epidemiology and Bioinformatics). Part of this course is delivered via a module on Informatics which gives an introduction to bioinformatics, and the tools available to facilitate biomedical research and specifically next generation sequencing data. If you are interested in developing skills in any of these areas, it may be possible for you to attend individual sessions or the entire module. In addition, there are other options for training with the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences Core Bioinformatics Team and other modules on the course that may be appropriate including: Computing for Bioinformatics, Statistical Approaches in the Life Sciences, advanced modules on Genetic Epidemiology and other topics.
