Managing Stress and Anxiety in your PhD
Domain: B2 Self-management

TACE: C - Completion

Format: Workshop
Suitable for: All

If you are feeling overwhelmed with your PhD, unable to relax and sleep, unable to concentrate and focus on your work to the best of your ability, this workshop will provide you with the tools to improve the balance in your life and gain control of your thoughts, emotions and behaviours.

This workshop will help you to recognise your signs, symptoms and triggers of stress and anxiety. It will provide you with techniques and strategies to manage and reduce your stress, skills to identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours and techniques for calming and regaining control of your body’s anxiety response.

The aim of this workshop is to consider some techniques to help you to:
* recognise the signs, symptoms and inducers of stress and anxiety
* consider prevention of stress rather than cure by looking at different techniques to minimise stressful situations
* learn skills to identify the unhelpful thoughts that exacerbate and maintain the anxiety, showing you how to challenge these and re-focus on your strengths
* look at how relaxation exercises and other strategies can help you to regain control

Additional services are available to help support you during your studies
