This workshop aims to help you understand your personal traits of perfectionism and the detrimental impact perfectionism will have on your wellbeing and, subsequently, your PhD. The workshop will teach you techniques and strategies to help you gain a healthier balance in your life. It is designed to help you re-focus on achieving high, realistic standards, rather than pressurising yourself to attain unrealistic and unachievable targets. Coping strategies that you learn in this workshop will stand you in good stead during your PhD. Knowing when you have worked long enough, reached the appropriate standard of work for your supervisor or knowing that you have prepared sufficiently for a conference ā€“ this is an essential self-management skill which will enable you to be happier and a better member of a team.
