PGR Festival – Day 1: The Showcasing Researcher – How to Become a Doctoral Academy Champion
Domain: B3 Professional and career development

TACE: T - Transition

Format: Talk/Experiential
Suitable for: All

Doctoral Academy Champions are PhD students who embody the Doctoral Academy’s values and vision, and who represent the diversity of research, and postgraduate research students, across the University. Our aim with the Champions Network is to build a mutually beneficial relationship with our students. We want to showcase the work of our PGRs, showing the world the amazing things they are achieving. In turn, Champions will receive publicity for their research and various ways to share their story with a wide audience. You will also become part of a diverse network of other Champions, and a member of our ‘go-to’ community to call upon for various opportunities. Being a Champion is a great way to gain public engagement experience, and something to help you stand out on your CV!

At this session, you’ll be able to hear all about the Champions scheme, how to get involved, what you will get out of it, and what will be expected of you in return. You will also have the opportunity to talk to some of our current Champions and hear how they have benefitted from the scheme.
