This one-day course will introduce the LaTeX typesetting language, a widely used system for writing papers, articles and theses (especially in the sciences but also in other disciplines). The course will start from first principles, introducing the language and its use and taking you from complete beginner to being able to create basic documents. Topics covered will include:
* what is LaTeX?
* writing and compiling LaTeX
* document structure
* document classes
* packages
* text formatting
* lists & tables
* including graphics in documents
* typesetting mathematics and logic
* referencing and the bibliography environment

* multilingual typesetting
