Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Virtual Competition
Domain: D2 Communication and dissemination

Due to Covid-19 the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition will be virtual.

"So, tell me about your PhD…"

Can you give a good answer in three minutes? If you can it will help you in many different situations, from job interviews to family occasions. All PhD researchers, regardless of stage of study, are invited to enter an exciting national competition and present a compelling oration on their thesis topic and its significance.

The Cardiff heat of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition will be held on Tuesday 30 June. A winner will be selected to progress to the national stages of the competition, with £400 of prizes up for grabs for the best presentations.

In normal circumstances, 3MT® would take place as a live event, with competitors presenting in person to a public audience. However, due to the current situation, we have decided to run this year’s event in a virtual format. To participate, you will simply need to submit a single, static PowerPoint slide, representing your research, along with a three minute recording of your talk.

All entrants will be provided with advice about how to record their talks and get the most out of them. Virtual drop-in clinics will also be arranged for those who wish to practice in front of and receive guidance from experienced presenters at the Doctoral Academy.
