How to Get Published (AHSS)
Domain: D2 Communication and dissemination

In this talk, the editor of an (open access) journal and the editor of a monograph series combine their expertise to talk about how to get published. Martin Willis, Professor of English at Cardiff, has been the editor of the Journal of Literature and Science since its creation in 2008, while Keir Waddington, Professor of History at Cardiff, has edited a monograph series with three academic / university presses since 2009. Drawing on this expertise and their interdisciplinary experiences across the humanities and social sciences, Martin and Keir will consider:

- how to approach a journal / publisher
- how to turn your ideas into a journal article / book
- how to respond to reviewers’ comments
- how to deal with acceptance and rejection

After the talk, you will be able to pick up further tips on publishing your work by participating in a question and answer session.

Registration, with hot drinks, starts at 16:30.

Martin Willis
Keir Waddington

NB This talk is primarily aimed at doctoral students in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
