What Next? Career Planning for PhD Students - (Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences)
Domain: B3 Professional and career development

TACE: E - Employment

Format of Workshop: Practical
Suitable for: Late stage researchers

If you are planning to pursue a non-academic career after your PhD, this workshop will help you develop a structured approach to career decisions and a personal action plan to get you started. Under guidance from Careers & Employability Service staff, you will look at the overall directions open to you, evaluate your own interests and motivation and share ideas with others who are also just beginning to consider their options. You will also receive hints and tips on job-hunting and be directed to useful resources.

Follow up with a Careers Advisor is recommended. If you are fairly clear that you want to pursue a career inside higher education, you might find the ‘Preparing for an Academic Career’ session more suitable.

NB: There are separate sessions for the Humanities and the Sciences.
