This workshop will highlight the key areas you need to think about when applying for lectureships, including putting together your application and preparing for interview. A senior academic and an advisor from Human Resources will provide the ‘insider view’ on how jobs are created; the recruitment process; the review of applications and shortlisting of candidates; the usual format of academic interviews; and what happens once the interview has taken place. The workshop will offer suggestions on how to:
* compose an appropriate letter of application
* fine tune your CV to match the job
* prepare yourself for the interview event
* respond appropriately at the interview
